How Ally got her groove back
Last year I got in a funk.
For over fifteen years I’d been living my dream as a bestselling author. I published 12 novels, 3 of them have been adapted to movies and I still have lots of stories to tell. And yet… amidst all this success, the joy was dissipating.
Seeing my characters come to life on the big screen is one of the greatest things I ever experienced. I love sharing a world of my creation with readers. But there’s a huge downside when creativity becomes a means to an end; merely a business model for publishers and producers. I started to feel out of touch with the thing I love most in the world. So, I took a step back.
I went back to the basics of writing, by doing it for free and anonymously. Writing fanfiction, just for the simple pleasure of sharing a story with people that loved my writing. The interaction with readers from all over the world made me feel that spark again. Their enthusiasm renewed my energy. I got my groove back!
I love writing. I’ll always love writing. Especially when I’m creating stories of my own, which is what I’ll be doing here. I’d love to share it all with you, here in my little corner of the world. You’re welcome to stay as long as you wish.
